QR Article

I reseached QR codes and can up with atricle that talks about how criminals are using QR codes to hack other poeple and impose threats. QR codes can be fanastic and very useful but there are always down sides to technology. Unforunity, there are people in the world that will abuse the knowlege in the world today.

My QR Code Research

During my class time researching QR codes Heather and I made a poster with QR codes to the School News. We went on YouTube and took the link for each news. Then we made the links into QR codes using a generator online. Next we printed the QRs and put them onto a poster board with the date of the news. Heather and I hung the poster in the loby of the school so that students could scan the QR codes and watch the SHS News without a problem. This project not only benifited Heather and myself with our knowlegne of technology but it benifited the school. This was a fun project and I really enjoyed it.

My Opinion on QR Codes

I think that QR codes are a fast and easy way to access a website. I love that with QR codes it takes less than 5 seconds to scan a QR. QR codes act as a link but without the work of typing the whole URL. Heather and I made a poster for the school news and used a QR code for every news that went straight to YouTube. As QR codes become more popular, people are starting to use them in more creative ways. Business'  are using QR codes on their business cards, merchandise and advertisement. I think that QR codes are a great way to link the technology we have today with the real world. On cell phones there are multiple apps for a QR scanner. One of the best apps is i-nigma. All you do it hold your phone up to the QR code and i-nigma takes you straight to the link. It is also easy to make a QR code. There are many QR code Generators online. QR codes are going to become more popular as technology increases. Hopefully everyone will be formilar with QR codes in the future because they are very useful.

Cyberbullying in SHS

During the process of making this project I realized that bullying is a hard thing to prevent. Most schools if someone bullys another person then they get punished, but when I interveiwed my sister and her college friends I learned that it is harder than that. When the bully in punished then the other person does not get help, they might get revenge but that is not helpful. Bullying should be prevented more so that these situations do not accure. As Erica said in my interview "the damage is done." She means that once somebody is bullyed, any punishment for the other bulllier is not going to change anything. Another thing I realized is that bullying is most likely never going to stop. There will always be mean kids and kids who don't listen, but the future should learn from the pasts mistakes.

Cyberbully Video Response

Some of the things that were surprising in Cyberbully was how Taylor's friends all turned their backs on Taylor. When Taylor starts talking to a kid named "James" online she tells him personal things. Later in the movie Taylor realizes James is a fake person. At the end of the movie Taylors friend Samantha confesses to creating the James account and starting rumors about Taylors. I didn't think a friend would do that to another friend but it goes to show everyone needs to make sure they are sharing information with someone they really know. The other thing that surprised me was how upset Taylor got over the rumors. She felt like her whole life should be over and she was useless. That made me realize you never know how much something you say or do can hurt someone else. Everyone should be helping the problem instead of creating it. I think that this movie was very powerful and makes an impact on a lot of kids lives.

10 Things Your Student Should Know About Their Digital Footprint

In this article I found out why keeping a clean digital footprint is so important. I learned that colleges look at your facebook, instagram, twitter and all of the websites you have an account in to find out what kind of person you are. I do not use my facebook very much, but when I do I make sure everything I say is clean and won't offend anyone else. the last thing I want is to post something on the edge of inapropriate then be turned down when I apply for a job. I understand that an online profile refects who I am. What others think of me is very important because I want a good reputation.

What I Think of Freshman Year

        So far freshman year hasn't been what I expected. I thought I would be able to see my friends and socialize more in between classes but you only have a couple minutes to go to your locker and go to the next class. Also, I feel like middle school did not prepare me for the homework at all. I have been spending at least 2 hours every night doing homework. It is really stressful but I am getting used to it. Although there are some struggles I am enjoying high school. During lunch I can sit with whoever I want. Another good thing is I can carry around my backpack so I don't have to carry all my books. I feel more mature now that I am in high school because they don't baby you. Once I get used to the teachers and workload I will like the high school more.
